The Bargain is a true period drama of the Passion of the Christ set to a musical score of original contemporary music. The Bargain began as collaboration between L. Michael Breeze and David J Fox. Breeze's script and Fox's music is based on the Gospel of John. The Bargain's subsequent productions and its acceptance led to its development as a full-length musical where the 25 original songs have undergone comprehensive musical arrangements by Ric Koenig and the manuscript rewritten by David Fox.
Now in it's 5th generation, The Bargain has drawn audiences to the full length production in what is now to be the 4th full length run of the show since it's inception.
The official artwork which has become a ceterpiece to the identity of the show has been created by and used by permission of Ed Unitsky of Belarus. Mr Unitsky is a master artist who is compared to the likes of Roger Dean and other modern artists of our times.
Ed has completed amazing art-work for the Christian Rock Opera – The Bargain. The Bargain is Written and Composed by David J Fox and arranged by Ric Koenig. The creative works of many local Cleveland talents have the additional collaboration of Ed’s incredible artwork.
Ed's captivating art will be incorporated as backgrounds for the show and future DVD release of the filmed and recorded The Bargain show. Each artwork piece powerfully captures the essence of the show. In one of the artwork showpieces, Unitsky created his perception of the Last Supper. Dali’s influence in Ed’s artwork is evident. His artworks expressions are intended to show the Last Supper, The Crucifixion, and the ascension of Spirit. While Mr. Unitsky has definitive intentions of his Last Supper artwork, many conceptual elements within the picture are for the observer to interpret.
Ed's mutual interest in the spiritual nature of Fox's project connected the two artists, and they agreed to work together to create another dimensional identity for The Bargain in its visual appeal through Ed's interpretive artworks.
With a cast of nearly 50 people includes David J Fox as Jesus, many gifted singers and dancers, stage direction by Karen Porter, choreography by Lisa-Marie French, additional production assistance of Julie Douglass , and live orchestration by the local and critically acclaimed CCM rock band Synergy, of which David Fox is a lead singer, create a truly credible and entertaining dramatic production.
The songs ranging in a variety of styles from pop to blues, jazz and bluegrass, and rock, will have its opening night at The Geauga Theater in Historic Downtown Chardon, Ohio.
The production of The Bargain promises to deliver a truly entertaining and emotional journey. A few pieces of Ed's Giclee' Limited Editions will be on exhibit for sale during the show.
